It's the number of seconds the computer has been on, (like ticks but in seconds) A "Peek Map" has been added to the unsorted section of the METAL page, it shows you the RAM memory in graphic. 5 Raycasters in METAL has been added to the 3D page I went for a "link search" for other programming pages and added some of my links to the "Links" section. August 6, 2000: A 3D page has been added to the METAL site with a nice spinning and bouncing 3D cube and some help files to get started in 3D programming A color converter which replaces and distorts colors from a picture file can be found at ... A very nice text scroller which uses the sine function to wawe the text around A new release of GDR is out, with 224 kilobytes more sprites, sounds and picts A Qbasic file with a lot of qbasic programs IN it, it's all in one textfile. I havent been able to divide it. Bubbles :very nice bubbles July 15, 2000: All METAL fans who want to discuss METAL programming (or programming in general) can check this page out. It's a METAL forum maintained by James Grubic. It's quite active (3-5 posts a day) and it looks nice but posting sourcecode is not recommended (it becomes corrupt). One of the creators of METAL, Marin Saric, has announced that the new version of METAL will be out in september this year. July 12, 2000: Well since of the summerholiday this site will not be frequently updated. So a visit once every week would keep you updated. Well I guess everyone knows the new METAL version is out (download it from http://www.glacial.com/Metal/downloads/metal-161t.hqx) and we all love it, but is it missing something? For now you can download METALtron which is a two player copy of the classic arcade game tron. It's very simple but it's fun to play and I can't see what there is more to do to it. June 30, 2000: Ever wanted to copy the desktop to your METAL program? Well now you can!! I'm not sure I'm the first to discover this way of capturing the desktop but I'm pretty darn proud of it. Just go to this address and copy the text. This is all you have to do. Just run the app and see what it can do!! Download a particle emulation here for METAL. Animates an explosion, download MINES 2000. you click with the mouse in the window and when you reach a certain number all mines xplode. Download a program which splits the string "sr$" into characters and bounces the around on the screen. HIT SPACE TO SEE WHAT WORD THE LETTERS FORM June 26, 2000: It's been a while since this site been updated but I've busy traveling and doing other stuff. The project on the projects page has been totally rewritten and reanimated and will be out soon. But for so long you can feast on the coolest METAL app out there. It's a image editing tool which can blur, dither, split, melt, and simulate a magnefyingglas. All of the pictures can be saved. Download I'm starting a new project trying to collect lots of cool sprites,sounds,picts and cursors for game creation. If you want to submit anything to that project just e-mail it to axeln@mac.com and you will be given credit for you work. I hope it will be the next great source for game developers. May 14, 2000: I'm working on a project called "Bookie" which is a usefull bookmark editing, browsing and indexing application. It can do anything you want to do with a bookmark, even export a NE bookmark file, you can choose if you want to make a bookmark file for a specific folder or for all of you collected bookmarks. I expect it to be done soon, and as when ii is I will post it on the Bookie homepage so keep tuned. May 5, 2000: Pingpong has been updated, very much improved. It's a very simple breakout game but still it runs better on METAL then the one I made in REALbasic called Breakout.
