Excelsior:
Warzone and Chronopia

Previously distributed by Target Games

For a few years ago this line of future warriors was ranked as no. 2 in the world (after GW). Sadly the company responsible for the Warzone and Chronopia (fantasy) lines, Target Games, got into financially difficulties after buying the tin soldier company "Prince August" and shifting focus onto computer games.

Rumors claim the sculptors and casting crew that produced the Warzone/Chronopia lines are the ones who now run iKore.

Target Games is now an investment firm and has apparently sold off their gaming products. New head honchos for the Warzone/Chronopia lines are the American company Excelsior.

I have yet to see any new releases from them - so this review is of the old stuff (probably going to be re-released).

Chronopia Blade Maiden Champion and Warzone Wolfbairn

Scale
Roughly 30 mm.

Pros (+)
The miniatures are mostly "Booby Bitch-Babes" or "Mucho Macho Males" :-)
They are all very detailed and look extremely "correct", infact the sculpts are often better than the overall GW minis (not up to Jes Goodwin standards, but close).

Cool weapons include lots of Gatling (Assault Cannon) variants.

I have added a GW Space Wolf pelt to the woman.

Cons (-)
It is hard to find any real drawbacks on the humans (and those are the ones I will focus on here). Perhaps that all men and females seems to be built the same (genetically perfected?)?

Some minis are a bit on the small side (the other Chronopia Blade Maidens for instance).

This Chronopia Blade Maiden was given an iKore gun with painted "Aliens"-digits to make her fit in with the Warzone guys.

Ohh, and as my brother just had to comment on (and spoil my illusion of a "perfect sculpt") - the Chronopia Blade Maiden has an "impossible to make" inverted plait.
