News March 1:st: I've just finished off doing some scary sounds in a trailer for an upcoming Swedish movie and music to an information film about lightrail traffic, maybe some democlips will be avilable in the future.

News Feb 10:th: I've done some liverecordings with percussionist, Luis Hurtado Yonson. Check out our duo Caravan Separator. We mostly do free form stuff, weird & fun.

News Jan 28:th: I've decided to split my stuff in two halfs. My Niklas Ahman site will be emphasising on my melodic jazzfusion and instumental rock pieces. The new one, Niks Garage are going to stream my experimental projects. This means that my present songs Caravan Operator, Stratosphere, Lost Empire, Re and ETR will be turned off at Niklas Ahman and then be reactivated at Niks Garage instead.

It's a challenge for me to express thoughts, what I believe in, tell stories and make statements without any lyrics. I prefer to do melodic pieces and flavour it with improvisations and interesting rythms. To me the attitude and mood of a song is the most important. I try to keep things pretty simple and make enough room for both good and bad vibes, to create tension, to make it real. The perfect song, in my opinion, consists of both of beauty and ugliness in equal portions, just like life, some things are good, some are bad.

I've played and written music in a lot of different styles and genres, therefore when working solo it feels natural to compose without consider any particular genre, usually ending up in a mix of jazz, rock, pop, folk and contemporary. Anyway, getting older I tend to get more and more into jazz-stuff.

Back in -83 I started out, playing in diverse rock-bands and later on I got more into jazz and worldmusic. I'm self-taught and since 10 years I've been working as a composer and guitarist, mostly with drama groups and live-performance artists. Furthermore I've also done music for film, commercials, exhibitions and poetry recitations.

I've just finished off doing some scary sounds in a trailer for an upcoming Swedish movie and music to an information film about lightrail traffic. For the moment paralell with jamming in Caravan Separator and teaching guitar, I'm sketching on music to a film about Varberg, music to a computergame and some stuff for an art-installation. I don't have much time left for recording my latest songideas, it looks like my next release will be around April-May.
